The Problem
Ten Forward was an awesome development shop with an impressive client list and virtually no visual identity to speak of. They needed a complete look to establish themselves as a professional, reliable team in a competitive market.
The Solution
Especially since this was a brand new company, we started from square one—defining who they are, who they are not, and who their target audience is. From there, the visual identity could begin to take shape.
Ten Forward focuses on writing custom software with good architecture, maintainability, quality, and timeliness. If you’re like me and have never watched an episode of Star Trek, you are likely to miss its connection to their name. Ten Forward is the bar and lounge area where crew members of the USS Enterprise would come for advice from the ship’s oracle/bartender over a drink. The advice was always simple, deep and candid, and it’s this kind of casual, personable and wise approach to problem-solving that makes Ten Forward Consulting an invaluable team of collaborators.
They wanted to emphasize their approachability (with a subtle hint of nerdiness) so that even those clients who aren’t tech-savvy can confidently contact them for their next development project. I captured this simplicity and their dedication to speed and accuracy in a single keyboard key. The 1 and 0 are combined into one key as if to say they are so fast at typing up code, it’s like they’re hitting two keys at once.
The Result
Seven months after their brand launch, Ten Forward added two new employees and continues to wow their growing list of local and national clientele.
